FPI – Frequently Asked Questions
Private Investigations

Q: Are you licensed private investigators?

A: Yes. Faithful Path Investigations is licensed and insured in the State of Missouri under RSMo Chapter 324. We operate in full compliance with Missouri law and maintain all required insurance, training, and ethical standards. For cases in Kansas or other states, we coordinate with our trusted network of licensed investigators to ensure compliance with local laws.

Q: What types of investigations do you handle?

A: We offer a wide range of investigative services including:

  • Background checks & due diligence

  • Infidelity & domestic investigations

  • Child custody & welfare checks

  • Missing persons & locate services

  • Fraud & insurance investigations

  • Surveillance & evidence documentation

  • Process serving & skip tracing support

  • Criminal & civil case support

Q: Can you perform surveillance legally?

A: Yes. Surveillance is conducted lawfully and discreetly in public areas where there’s no expectation of privacy, in compliance with Missouri and Kansas laws. We do not trespass, record in private dwellings, or use illegal tracking devices.

Q: Is audio or video recording legal during investigations?

A: Missouri is a one-party consent state, meaning one party in a conversation may legally record it. Kansas follows the same rule. However, recording conversations without being a participant or in private spaces is prohibited. We always operate within state and federal wiretap laws.

Q: Can a private investigator access phone or financial records?

A: Not without consent or lawful authorization. We can, however, locate public records, confirm employment or residence, and compile legally obtainable background data through legitimate investigative databases.

Q: How much does an investigation cost?

A: Pricing depends on the case type, duration, number of investigators, and tools required (e.g., surveillance vs. background). We offer:

  • Hourly investigations for surveillance or complex cases

  • Flat-rate packages for background or locate services

  • Retainer options for law firms or ongoing cases

All fees are disclosed upfront in your service agreement.

Q: Will you share information with anyone else?

A: No. All investigations are confidential. Information is released only to the client or as required by law (e.g., subpoena, court order). We protect client data under strict confidentiality and data-protection policies.

Q: Can you testify in court about your findings?

A: Yes. Our investigators can appear in court or depositions to authenticate reports, photos, or video evidence, if requested.

Q: How long does an investigation take?

A: Timelines vary by complexity and subject activity. Simple background checks may take 1–2 days, while surveillance or domestic cases could last a week or longer. We provide regular updates so you’re always informed.

Q: What if the subject crosses state lines?

A: We are licensed in both Missouri and Kansas, allowing us to operate legally across the metro region. For out-of-state cases, we coordinate with licensed investigators in those jurisdictions to maintain full compliance.

Q: What makes Faithful Path Investigations different?

A: As a veteran-owned and faith-based agency, we stand for integrity, reliability, and results. We don’t cut corners or compromise ethics — our clients trust us to deliver truth with professionalism and discretion.
